The purpose of this project was to attempt to answer the question, “What would things be like if self-driving cars were around in the 1950’s?”. By placing the technology in a different cultural context, I allowed myself to explore the visual aesthetic of retro-futurism, taking inspiration from 50’s “jet age” concept car design, the Fallout universe, and this 1956 video depicting GM’s vision of consumer-owned autonomous vehicles. This was also one of my first projects using Affinity Designer.

Copies of both posters are currently being displayed at both Oxbotica’s corporate headquarters and main testing facility.
